ABOUT THE BIRDING
Hacienda Limon is a settlement on the upper hilltops above the road that descends into the Marañon Valley from Celendin. The habitat is mainly high elevation scrub. Several trails lead up from the hamlet of Lucma, starting at the soccer field. These trails are the best place to find one of the main target birds, Gray-winged Inca-Finch. The other main target bird is Chestnut-backed Thornbird, which can be seen around Lucma and along the main road. Other interesting birds include Black-necked Woodpecker, Baron's Spinetail, Marañon Thrush, and Buff-bellied Tanager.
LOCATION OF SITE
Hacienda Limon is located in northern Peru between Celendin and Balsas.
