ABOUT THE BIRDING
The Kongelai Escarpment is a rugged area of cliffs and dry scrub that offers an altitudinal transect featuring several specialty birds. Species of particular interest are Rock Pratincole, White-crested Turaco, Eastern Plantain-eater, Fan-tailed Ravin, Lesser Blue-eared Glossy-Starling, and Bronze-tailed Glossy-Starling.
LOCATION OF SITE
The Kongelai Escarpment is located about 60 km north from Kitale in western Kenya. The nearest town is Kapenguria, not far off the main A1 highway from Makutano.
