Iguassu Falls National Park is a spectacularly scenic area best known for the falls themselves. The best view of the falls is from the Brazilian side even though the bulk of the falls are in Argentina. The Argentine side offers closer views of the falls, which are best photographed on that side in late afternoon. Both sides of the falls are surrounded by rainforest, much of it relatively inaccessible. The Trilha Poco Preto trail on the Brazilian side and the Sendero Macuco on the Argentine side offer excellent access to the forest and its birds.
Speciality birds of the park include the rare Black-fronted Piping-Guan, Great Dusky Swift, Planalto Hermit, Chestnut-eared Aracari, Toco Toucan, Blond-crested Woodpecker, Plush-crested Jay, Purple-throated Euphonia, and Red-crested Finch.
