ABOUT THE BIRDING
The Tswapong Hills in eastern Botswana are a low-lying mountain range reach 300-400m above the surrounding plateau. They're not a protected area and are most notable as one of the few places where Cape Vulture, a vulnerable species, can be found in Botswana. Various mammals are also present including Brown Hyena, Rock Hyax, Leopard, Crested Porcupine, kudu, and baboons. Of special note is Jameson's Red Rock Hare, which has very limited range in Botswana.
LOCATION OF SITE
The Tswapong Hills are located 40 km north of Palapye in eastern Botswana. Palapye is 275 km north of Gabarone and 586 km east of Maun. It's remote location makes it difficult to visit on a typical safari.
