ABOUT THE BIRDING
Trinidad, Bolivia is one of the best birding cities in the world. It's located in the Beni Endemic Bird Area, which features three Bolivian endemics, the rare Unicolored Thrush, Beni Softtail (a likely future split from Plain Softtail), and Beni Grackle (a likely future split from Velvet-fronted Grackle). The main habitat is tropical savanna, but the nearby Laguna Suarez located 20 miles from the airport and open areas and forest located at San Ramon and Puerto Ballivian. Birds in the region are plentiful and generally easy to see.
LOCATION OF SITE
Trinidad, Bolivia is located 600km northwest of La Paz in the lowlands of central Bolivia. It's most readily accesible by a short flight of about an hour either from La Paz or Cochabamba.
