ABOUT THE BIRDING

Siberia offers superb birding through cloud forest (yungas) in the Cochabamba region of Bolivia. Birding is along a nice side road with very little traffic. The best birding is above 2000m though the road descends to the town of La Fortaleza at 1500m. From this side road junction, another 8km along the main road to Cochabamba is a small lake where the scrub habitat is good for Black-throated Thistletail. A side road to the left into Puna habitat is usually good for Hellmayr's Pipit, while further along is an excellent site for Black-hooded Sunbeam about 4km before the town of Siberia.

LOCATION OF SITE

Siberia is located 1 hour (31km) from Comarapa in the Cochabamba region of central Bolivia.
