ABOUT THE BIRDING

Lake Titicaca is a high elevation lake a short distance northwest of La Paz. The best birding and most frequent visited part of the lake is its southeast shoreline and vicinity. The main target species is the flightless Titicaca Grebe. Other interesting species there include James's Flamingo, Puna Miner, Rufous-banded Miner, Plain-mantled Tit-Spinetail, and Puna Yellow-Finch.

Lake Titicaca is located about 75km (about an hour's drive) northwest of La Paz city center.
