Mayflower Bocawina National Park is located in the lowlands of central Belize surrounding the Sittee River. It is reached via an access road from the Southern Highway south of the turnoff to Danriga and Sittee Point.

Mayflower Bocawina National Park is a 7100 acre preserve that encompasses much of what once was the Silk Grass Forest Reserve. It also includes parts of the Sittee River Forest Reserve and Commerce Bight Forest Reserve. Most of the park is covered by closed-canopy by tropical evergreen lowland forest. About 200 species of birds have been recorded in the park. Perhaps the most notable species is Keel-billed Motmot, which is scarce throughout its range and difficult to see because it tends to avoid human disturbance. Other notable species include Crested Guan, Great Curassow, and Ocellated Turkey, the latter a Yucatan endemic.
