We meet everyone at the Belize International Airport and drive to our first destination, Bird's Eye View Lodge, where we'll stay our first 2 nights. We then transfer to a private forest reserve and lodge at Pook's Hill for our next 3 nights. We then cross the border into Guatamala and spend the next 3 nights at the Tikal Inn inside Tikal National Park. After returning to Belize, we spend our last night at Wari Lodge located along the Western Highway within reasonable driving distance from the airport.

POOK'S HILL LODGE
Pook's Hill Lodge is located in the foothills of the Maya Mountains of Belize, bordering the Roaring River and Tapir Mountain Nature Reserve. The lodge is situated within a 300 acre Private Reserve, on the site of an ancient Maya Plazeula Group, and birding in the surrounding forest is excellent. The lodge features an open air restaurant and bar on the slopes of a hill, affording a fine vantage point for observing birds while relaxing with a cold beverage. Meals feature regional Belizean cuisine and are served family-style.
Each room at Pook's Hill is in a separate thatched cabina. Each room features a comfortable double bed, private bath, and hot-water shower. A ceiling fan helps keep the room cool. The rooms are screened to increase air circulation and curtains can be drawn to ensure complete privacy.

There is a heated swimming pool and a small internet cafe on the grounds. The restaurant serves family-style meals. During our stays we generally eat lunch at nearby comedores. There are 17 rooms plus private bungalows in thatched cabinas at the lodge.
Rooms are spacious and feature two double beds, ceiling fans, private porch, private bath, and hot-water showers. All rooms are clean and comfortable. Electricity is supplied by generators and is generally turned off after 9:00 PM as well as sometimes during the day (times vary).
