Our tour of the Galapagos Islands is offered in conjunction with an Ecuadorian tour company who specializes in birding and nature tours. They have been conducting tours to the Galapagos for the past 10 years and are handling all arrangements. It includes 2 nights in Quito and 7 nights on board a 16-passenger yacht. The price is the same whether you book through us or directly with our Ecuadorian partner. We cannot accept credit cards as payment for this tour.
During the tour we'll visit many of the main islands, providing the opportunity to see most or all of the 28 endemic birds of the Galapagos including Galapagos Penguin, Flightless Cormorant, Lava Heron, Galapagos Hawk, Lava Gull, Swallow-tailed Gull, and quite likely Galapagos Rail, most species of Galapagos finches, and all 4 species of Galapagos mockingbirds. We'll visit the world's primary breeding colony of Waved Albatross along with nesting colonies of Great and Magnificent Frigatebirds, Blue-footed Booby and Nazca Booby. While at sea sailing between islands we'll see a variety of seabirds including possibly sightings of Galapagos Shearwater, Galapagos Petrel, Elliot's Storm-Petrel, Wedge-rumped Storm-Petrel, Band-rumped Storm-Petrel, and Red-billed Tropicbird.
The tour is not just a birding tour. We'll see a variety of other animals that have made the Galapagos famous, including colorful Sally Lightfoot Crabs, Giant Tortoise, sea turtles, marine iguanas, land iguanas, lava lizards, Galapagos Sea Lion, and Galapagos Fur Seal. We could possibly see several species of whales such as Short-fin Pilot Whale, Bryde's Whale, Minke Whale, Cuvier's Whale, and Right Whale. We'll have an opportunity to go snorkeling on the reefs and see a variety of reef fish as well. We'll have numerous photo opportunities so bring your camera.
