Cerro de la Muerte is located high in the Talamanca Mountains about 15 km. south of the turnoff to San Gerardo de Dota. It's about a 3-hour drive from San Jose up the winding Highway 2, which eventually leads south toward Palmar Sur and San Vito in southern Costa Rica.
