Our central Costa Rica photo tours visit three of the best locales for photographing birds in the country, namely Carara National Park, La Selva Biological Station, and Savegre Mountain Lodge in the Talamanca Mountains. This itinerary allows us to see specialty birds of lowland and middle elevations on both Pacific and Caribbean sides of the country as well as highland birds such as Resplendent Quetzals. Our southern Costa Rica photo tour covers a less visited and more tropical part of the country. There we can see and photograph numerous species not found farther north. The best time to visit southern Costa Rica is in January when temperatures are more mild. The best time to visit central Costa Rica is late January through March when Quetzals are most easily found and photographed.
